My trip in a van in Tasmania that took me over 7200km crisscrossing around this absolutely unique kite-wonderland, certainly counts to the absolute highlights in my travelling as well as kiting life!
Van Diemen’s Land aka Tasmania is a truly magic place. The wind is almost always blowing and no matter where you are on the island, you’re never more than an hour away from the ocean. There’s kiting all around and you can easily whizz from one side to the other. The number of spots (wave, freestyle, speed) is sheer endless with some of the cleanest air and water in the world. I could write a book about my adventures there and it would be absolutely foolish to even only attempt packing all my experiences into a few pages. Thus I concentrated on some of the highlights in this 10 page article in the French Kiteboarder Magazine.
Read the story online simply by scrolling down and downloading the pdf!
If French is not your mother tongue, don’t despair, here’s the German version on 10.5 pages in Kiteboarding.eu, the Spanish version on 6 pages in Surf a Vela or the English version on 10 pages in Kiteworld.
Hope you like it as much as I do 🙂
