New Caledonia, the little country situated 1500kms off the East coast of Australia in the heart of the South Pacific is composed of a group of three ‘larger’ islands as well as a myriad of smaller ones. Surrounded by a coral barrier reef that stretches over 1,600 kilometres, New Caledonia boasts the world’s largest lagoon (24.000 square kilometres). Needless to mention, it’s absolutely perfect for our sport and any kiter’s dream! The lagoon is listed since 2008 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and recognized as one of the three most extensive reef systems in the world.
Even after having extended my trip twice already, I still did not want to leave this absolutely magic place. New Caledonia is absolutely dazzling and there’s no doubt I had found paradise!
