“Wave of Life”: Belize

As part of my column with the title “Wave of Life – Letters from around the World” in Austria’s leading Women & Lifestyle-Magazine “Für Mich”, I’m sending each month a letter to the readers, in which I’m reporting from my trips and adventurous travels that take me all year to super exciting destinations all around our beautiful planet.

I sent my letter No. 9 for the April issue from Belize in Central America, an amazing little piece of paradise that is planted with one foot in the Central American jungles and the other dipped in the Caribbean Sea. Belize blends the best of both worlds and I had to check it out. Woooow, and what I found was truly mind-blowing 🙂 !

I went to “Caye Caulker” a small limestone coral island off the coast in the Caribbean Sea measuring about 5 miles (8.0 km) (north to south) by less than 1 mile (1.6 km) (east to west). A magic place and an unforgettable trip… during which LOTS didn’t go at all as planned 😉

The sub-title of the story is literally translated “Trip around half the world for  o n e  ropey photo”…
funny how it goes with travels;   though one thing’s for sure, even if nothing goes according to plan, there’s always many, many good memories, experiences, and new friendhships that will last a lifetime!
