Best spot in brazil

What’s the best spot in brazil? I’ve heard so many rumours as to ‘ it’s kite paradise…and always windy…’. I would like to plan to go there next year, where shall I head to?

Brazil is the biggest country in South America, and after Russia, Canada, China and the USA the 5th largest in the world. Its coastline runs along the Atlantic Ocean for over 11,919 miles (7,408 kilometers) of white sandy beaches, thus you certainly can imagine, there’s almost uncountable possibilities to kitesurf. I have been to Brazil several times and spent all together already more then 2 years there. Ceará is one of the states of Brazil, located in the northeastern part of the country, on the Atlantic coast and the region where I most kited in. Due to its climate and sensational wind statistic (about 6 months per year, pretty much windy every day) is predestined as kitsurf-heaven, especially give several shallow lagoons perfect for fast progress for all levels of kitesurfers.  The area around Fortaleza comprises several rather popular kite-destinations, to the South and North such as Combuco, Paracuru, Flexeiras, Jericoacoara and many more.   Further north of Ceara is Piaui, which increasingly becomes more known as sick kite-playgrounds!

However also further in the South of Brazil, the beaches around Rio, and Cabo Frio as well as the island Florianopolis in the state of Santa Catarina boasts excellent kitesurfing, although windstatistics are less promising.

In between the spots up North and down South that I already mentioned above there’s certainly a huge amount of excellent kitesurfing-spots, pressumingly with less crowd, however, I could not recommend any as I still have to explore these areas.  If you choose to do so, please make sure you send me your report 🙂
What’s the best for you will mainly be determined by your level, your preferences with regards to the conditions and whether you’re going alone or in a group.
