Travel – pathway to new horizons
Travels supposedly broaden the (one’s) mind, new countries, cultures, impressions, acquaintances and friends; almost everyone dreams of traveling abroad, to discover new worlds and just to get away from it all… I can only totally agree to that: traveling is without a doubt one of the best things to do and makes life so beautifully exciting !!
Some people get a true buzz out of travel and thrive in the quest for unknown places even more so when off the beaten track, for others however, leaving home stepping out of the ordinary represents a truly freigthening experience.
Since more than 6 years, I’m traveling pretty much 300 days a year, ‘on the road’ in my duties as kitesurf-professional. Born and raised in one of Europe’s few landlocked countries, Austria, with the nearest sea access many thousand kilometres away but insanely hooked on the ocean, really ‘the only way to go’.
Most of the times I’m traveling alone, that’s without a doubt often tough, however, also has its advantages as it’s usually tricky to find somebody whose agenda totally matches, budget, preferences and timeframe .. and consequently trravling in a group requires compromises. YES, me too, I simply looove going on a trip with good friends but setting out for a journey by oneself signifies pure freedom and the opportunity to really ‘go with the flow’ and let new experiences, acquaintances determin where and what’s next … for me that’s the true adventurer spirit!
I would like to encourage all of you to go for all the chances you get, whether by yourself or in a group, go out and explore our beautiful World, be spontanious, jump at opportunities and experience what positive karma and courage will bring to you … and don’t forget to write to me once in a while to let me know 🙂 !
Here for ‘my tips’-section I have put together a little travel-guidebook that I will keep ‘pimping up’ in the future as I go along out there on my life-journey. Obviously it’s impossile to cover all aspects for all sorts of travels, no way, still I hope that some of the stuff will be valuable for you on your next trips.
