Die Wellenbummlerin

Es war einmal ein selbstbewusstes Mädchen, das große Karriere machen wollte. Ein Leben in der internationalen Hochfinanz, ein luxuriöses Apartment in einem Wolkenkratzer und jede Menge Kohle zum Shoppen. Und tatsächlich erfüllte sich Gabi Steindl ihren ehrgeizigen Traum schon mit 25 Jahren: Studium in Glasgow, ein Job in London und von dort direkt weiter in den Business District von Hong- kong: „Ich hatte alles, aber ich war nicht glücklich. Also habe ich auf mein Herz gehört und mich ins Abenteuer gestürzt.“

That’s the intro the this really cool article by Hannes Kropik in the spring-issue of the recently launched “Sportmagazin Ladies”, a sister-publication to Austria’s highly prestigious “Sportmagazin”.

The title “Die Wellenbummlerin” is hard to translate into English, though, it could be something along the lines of “The Wave-Stroller” or even “The Wave-Strolleress” (as it’s about me) 🙂  and covers my life and 360 degree turn from being a successful business woman in the city-jungles of London and Hong Kong to the kitesurfing-professional and surfing globetrotter that I am today.
