A totally unexpected and spontaneous adventure. I was actually heading back from Belize (Central America) by bus direction Cancun Mexico, where my plane back home to Europe was departing from as there aren’t any direct flights departing from Belize, 70 kg of equipment in the trunk, the bus full with Mexicans, when an old mate of mine ‘Gustavo’, a Mexican I met many years ago at the PKRA World Cup in Cabarete, Dominican Republik, popped up in my head….
No memories as to where in Mexico Gustavo was living, no clue whether he was in the country, if he was still kitesurfing or rather leading an office-career in some smoked up city, I decided to send him an email oncee the bus had stopped in the ancient town Tulum where I did a bit of sightseeing at the beautifully conserved old Maya temples.
In the end of the day: I stayed in Mexico for about 6 weeks and even did not not want to leave… great fun trip, awesome people and sick kitesurfing!
