Guys, apologies for the delayed news but unfortunately the last two months were pretty tough…everything just came so differently than I was hoping for…ok then, well, I hopped onto the plane in Austria mid October to get away from the cold .. my destination: sunny, warm Brazil for the PKRA Worldcup final.
The first two weeks were siiiick!! Kite kite kite kite…yeah, all day every day, Brasil really is kiter’s paradise!! The wind was strong, just the way I like it and my new Rhino5 9 sqm took me into new dimensions ? !!
But the pleasure didn’t last for too long…yep, unfortunately only two weeks after my arrival during a major ‘hard-core airpass training session’ … ‘baaang’ … I badly overstretched the rhomboid muscle in my shoulder – that’s the muscle which holds the shoulder blade in place, responsible for pulling and pushing, so ‘quite’ an essential one for kitesurfing !? – and I had to have a break of 4 (!!!) weeks…can you believe it ? .. a 4 week break in paradise..?? …quite a ‘toughie’ I tell ya !!
Unfortunately due to this injury, I couldn’t compete in the Worldcup final either…which was a real bummer as I was ready for it, I felt strong and well prepared and I really would have liked to kick ass !! I was still there, though, in Beach Park and it was still fun seeing everyone, the whole ‘Worldcup family’ … I just wished sooo much to be competing…
Congratulations to the new World Champions: Aaron Hadlow in the men’s and my team mate Cindy Mosey in the women’s. Well done guys !!
Shortly after the event was finished, my doctor gave me the o.k. and I finally could get back in the water ? … soooo goooood !! and yeah, just in time, for some filming with ‘Stance’-Mag for their newest DVD … stoked and proud being part of it!! Read more about the whole project in the ‘Stance-DVD’-Update…check it out!
